Glorious Opening Morning

I guess it was the point man on the "A-team" (isn't his name "Hannibal"?) who made famous the phrase, "I love it when a plan comes together." The truth is, we always wonder, "What if we throw a party and nobody comes?"
But on a glorious Monday morning, June 13th, I'm happy to report that we not only had perfect weather, we also had perfect numbers. With Coach Lucas as the lead trainer (recently named Coach of the Year for the state of Kentucky and nationally certified by the United States Soccer Federation after a grueling 9-day residential training and testing camp), A.J. as lead assistant, Trevor, Tommy, and Adrienne as helpers, and River City Rovers (professional soccer team) providing Alex and Dustin, our players had lots of personal supervision. 11 Campers came with water bottles and shin guards in tow. And a great day was had by all. We could still accommodate a few more campers, in case you know of someone who would like to get in on the fun. And don't forget that your paid registration to Skyrocket Soccer entitles you to free entrance in the Thursday night showdown between the River City Rovers and the Chicago Fire Premier Development League team at 7pm. Our players will get to walk the Rovers and the Fire out on the field, English Premier League style. (So we could use a few more!)
Stick close to your cell phones, campers and parents, in case we encounter stormy weather tomorrow. We train in light rain, but we usually cancel in case of a downpour. (Coach Lucas can't make his voice be heard over the roar of the raindrops!
)
But today wasn't a day to cancel anything. We enjoyed perfect weather and the players made impressive improvement in their passing and receiving skills. See you tomorrow morning, same game field, same game time.
